Course Description

The course is divided into two sections.

Section A: An introduction to the fundamental principles, phenomena, devices and systems in photonics and optoelectronics.

Section B: Survey of Applications – Medical imaging, Optical imaging etc.

Course Objective

  1. Understand fundamental principles, phenomena, devices, and systems in photonics and optoelectronics.
  2. Gain knowledge of photonics and optoelectronics applications in biomedicine, specifically mentioning microscopy, spectroscopy, medical imaging, and super-resolution techniques.
  3. Gain hands-on experience in academic writing, which includes performing a literature survey, writing a scientific proposal, and participating in peer review.
