Course Description

The course focuses on theories of dynamics in mechanisms and machines and design principles for improved dynamic performance. Students will learn how to apply Lagrange's equations to derive equations of motion. The course will also introduce Simscape, a Matlab/Simulink toolbox for multibody dynamics, to conduct dynamic analysis of machines.

Course Objective

The goal of this course is to help students develop the capability of analyzing the dynamics of machines. Students will also learn the techniques to improve the dynamic characteristics of a machine and solve the real-world problems.
