Course Description
This course provides a comprehensive study of vehicle dynamics, emphasizing the theoretical foundations and practical applications for modeling and simulating vehicle behavior. Using a flipped classroom approach, students will engage with lecture material before class, and class time will be used for problem-solving, discussion, and hands-on activities. The focus is on enabling students to derive dynamic equations, analyze vehicle behavior, and construct complete vehicle models using software such as Simulink.
Course Objective
Derive dynamic equations for vehicle motion.
Analyze vehicle behavior under various conditions, including straight-line motion, cornering, and braking.
Model and simulate vehicle dynamics using software such as Simulink.
Understand the influence of tire characteristics, weight transfer, and suspension systems on vehicle performance.
Critically evaluate different vehicle designs and control strategies.
Course Requirement
- This course employs a flipped classroom approach. Students are expected to watch recorded lectures and complete assigned readings before each class session.
- Class time will be used for active learning activities, including problem-solving, discussions, group work, and individual exercises.
- Emphasis will be placed on the practical application of concepts through modeling and simulation.
- In-class assignments will be used for assessment and will be graded immediately after class to provide quick feedback.
- Student Workload (Expected weekly study hours before and/or after class): 2 hrs
- Office Hours: —
- Designated reading: —
- 針對學生困難提供學生調整方式:
- A2 以錄影輔助 (Assisted by video)
- B6 學生與授課老師協議改以其他形式呈現 (Mutual agreement to present in other ways between students and instructors)
- D1 由師生雙方議定 (Negotiated by both teachers and students)
